A separate television project is currently being developed from Billy Paul Smith's Brandon Powell novels Abuse of Process and False Record. Rather than adapting the novels separately, the project combines both stories into a single character-driven limited series. The opening episodes establish attorney Wally Kelter's actions, Brandon Powell's conflict with him, and the damage inflicted upon Brandon and others during the events portrayed in Abuse of Process. The story then transitions into the events of False Record, where Wally Kelter is murdered and Brandon Powell becomes the most convenient suspect. As investigators begin uncovering hidden evidence and long-buried secrets, the search for the truth expands far beyond a simple murder case.
